The Central Church Internship is designed for students who want practical ministry experience inside the life of a local church.
You won't simply watch ministry happen from the sidelines. You'll serve alongside pastors, ministry leaders and volunteers, take on real responsibilities and receive feedback as you grow.

Pastoral Ministry
Teaching, preaching preparation, pastoral care, service planning and ministry leadership.
Central Kids
Children's ministry, teaching, Sunday programming, family ministry and volunteer leadership.

Student ministry, relational discipleship, youth nights, teaching and event leadership.
Worship
Worship ministry, rehearsal, team development, service preparation and platform leadership.
Tech & Production
Sound, livestream, cameras, lighting, media and Sunday production.

Guest Experience
Hospitality, foyer ministry, newcomers, Sunday hosting and helping people feel welcome.

What does the week look like?
Your exact schedule depends on your ministry area, but the internship is designed to fit alongside your studies.
Sunday Ministry
Approximately 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, including preparation, ministry, the service and post-service responsibilities.
Worship, Tech & Youth
Worship and tech rehearsals run from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Youth ministry also meets Thursday evenings.
Groups, Outreach & Events
Youth, outreach, small groups, special events and other ministry opportunities are scheduled in advance.
Approximately 3 to 6 Hours Per Week
Interns generally complete a minimum of 30 ministry hours per semester.
You shouldn't have to figure ministry out alone.
Internship includes intentional mentoring designed to help you process what you're learning in ministry and what God is doing in you personally.

Who is the internship for?
The internship is designed for ministry students who want practical local church experience alongside their academic training.
Do I need ministry experience already?
No. The internship is meant to help you gain experience. A willingness to learn, serve and receive feedback is more important than arriving with everything figured out.
Can I choose what ministry area I serve in?
Yes. We want to understand your interests, gifts and areas where you want to grow. Your internship can then be shaped around those areas while still giving you exposure to broader church ministry.
How many hours are required?
The normal rhythm is approximately 3 to 6 hours each week, with a minimum of approximately 30 ministry hours per semester.
Will I receive mentoring?
Yes. Mentoring and feedback are important parts of the internship. You'll have opportunities to process ministry, leadership, calling and personal growth with experienced pastors and leaders.
Will I get opportunities to lead?
Yes. Leadership opportunities depend on your experience, ministry area and readiness, but the goal is to move you beyond observation into meaningful participation and leadership.
What if I'm not sure what area of ministry I'm called to?
That's completely okay. One purpose of internship is to help you explore ministry areas and better understand your gifts, passions and calling.
